Healthy Eating Games for Kids
Make Your Child a Paleo Kid
Get your children excited about the paleo diet by playing some healthy eating games! Eating right shouldn’t feel like punishment. Help your kids gain a new appreciation for good food and where it comes from by making some fun activities part of your daily routine.
What’s That Food?
One of the beauties of the caveman diet is that you can easily identify the foods you are eating– something that can’t be said of the Lunchables and Lean Cuisines of the world. (Skeptical? Just read the ingredients labels.)
After dinner, ask your children to identify as many foods that they ate as possible. Have them draw a picture of the plant or animal that each food came from. Give a small reward like a sticker or box of crayons to the child who identified the most foods at the end of the week.
Name My Uses
Many plants and animals have different culinary uses. Cows give us milk and beef, marrow and tripe. Pigs give us pork, ham and bacon. Coriander plants give us cilantro leaf and spicy coriander seed.
Name a food plant or animal, and have your children name all of the parts of that plant or animal that you can eat. Ask what their favorite food is from the night’s list.
